What does the Watch do in practice?
Microsoft 365 comes with a lot of security features, but with the default settings the environment is not as secure as it could be.

Do I really need a Watch to improve security?
Microsoft 365 comes with extensive security features out of the box, and in principle you can protect your environment well even without Security.
In practice, however, this is often challenging because:
- settings are scattered across multiple views
- security data comes from many different sources
- it is difficult even for professionals to see the big picture
The Guard makes this whole process clear and manageable:

Does the Watch also detect attacks?
Yes.
Microsoft 365 continuously generates security-related data, such as login events, alerts and other risk signals.
Watch uses this data and:
- Identify anomalous or risky events
- Highlights relevant findings clearly
- tells you what to do next in a situation
Microsoft's own security mechanisms are responsible for the actual protection and alert generation.
Watchdog, on the other hand, makes this information understandable and guides the right actions.
This gives you a clear picture of the situation and allows you to react quickly when something out of the ordinary happens.
Does multi-factor authentication (MFA) not sufficiently protect the environment?
Multi-factor authentication is a very important safeguard and a good starting point. However, it alone is not enough to protect your Microsoft 365 environment.
Security is also affected by factors such as:
- user and administrator permissions
- permissions granted to applications
- login policies and conditional access
- email security settings
- file sharing settings
In addition, it is often these other areas that are targeted by attacks or which attempt to circumvent the MFA.

Is Microsoft 365 not secure enough?

How is Vahti different from Microsoft Secure Score?

What's more, in practice, it often happens that even if your Secure Score is high, the Watch still identifies a number of things that can significantly improve the level of security.
Can Vahti see our company emails or documents?
No.
The guard does not read or see the contents of emails or files, and has no access to passwords.
The service uses Microsoft interfaces only to view security-relevant data, such as:
- security settings
- user and application permissions
- login and other security events
Based on this, Watch identifies potential risks and makes recommendations to address them.
How quickly can the Watchman be up and running?
It usually takes just a few minutes to get up and running.

Do I need IT or security skills?
You don't need.
The guard is designed so that even a non-technical user can understand the security status and remediation instructions.
The findings and repair instructions are presented in clear Finnish language without complex technical vocabulary.
On the other hand, Vahti also makes the work of an experienced IT and security expert more efficient by bringing together all the necessary information in a single view.
What if we already have an IT partner?
That's a good starting point, but not at all necessary.
It is not a substitute for an IT partner, but a complement.
The watch helps to identify risks and prioritise remediation, and the IT partner can put the changes into practice.
On the other hand, the remediation paths are designed in such a way that in-depth IT expertise is not required.
Who is Watch suitable for?
Guard is ideal for companies that want to keep their Microsoft 365 environment secure - regardless of the size of the company.
Typically, Vahti's customers employ around 5-50 people, but the number of employees is not a limiting factor.

What is the pricing based on?
The price of a watch is made up of:
- a company-specific monthly fee
- Microsoft 365 users
Pricing is transparent and easily predictable, even as the number of users increases.
The service has no separate deployment obligation.

Can there be any other costs for using the Watch?
Only the monthly fee according to the price list will be charged for the use of the watch.
The service does not include any hidden costs, setup fees or separate license fees.
Vahti analyses the security of your Microsoft 365 environment and may identify situations where the licenses in use do not provide sufficient security features for your business needs.
In such cases, Vahti may recommend upgrading your licenses to provide the necessary security features. Any additional costs in such cases will be related to Microsoft licenses, not to the use of Vahti.
